My Love Affair With Turkish Tiles

I have always loved decorative tiles

and I am in tile heaven here in Turkey.

Turkey has had a long history in

decorative ceramics and you still

find artists painting tiles by hand.

Here are a few examples I have seen

as I visit places in Istanbul.

I love the way they interpret florals.

I adore their use of color.

I design my life in this color scheme.

For my home, I think doing an entire

room in tile might be a bit much...

But if you should ever make it to

Istanbul, don't miss the beautiful

tiles in the Blue Mosque.

I wonder, is this where all of the ceramic

items that tourists chip or drop in the

bazaar end up?
