Passau and Regensburg, Germany

You Can't Fool With Mother Nature.

On Friday morning we were up with the chickens, we were wrapped up in our warmest outerwear and ready to head out for a day in the Czech Republic.  Five minutes before we were to leave we got a call saying the road we needed to take was closed due to snow.
Is this Murphy's Law German style?

We decided to make the best of it and took a walking tour through Passau.

This is the newly renovated Church tower, the locals don't like it because they think it is too white, but it certainly looks great against that blue sky.

The interior of the baroque church.

This church is home to the largest organ in Europe.

On Saturday we said our goodbyes to all the lovely friends we made
while on the cruise and headed by train to Regensburg.

We visited 3 Christmas Markets and walked the winding streets peeking into shops.

I have a confession to make, I have an obsession of the wurst kind.
Since one of my kids is a vegetarian, I live a largely vegetarian life.  For some reason that all went out the window on this trip.  I have sampled every sort of wurst from Budapest to Passau.  I even wake up in the night thinking about what wurst I can sample the next day.  Oh well, soon enough we'll be back to veggies, tofu and beans...
