Pair 3 1/4" squares, right sides together,
in the following combinations:
1- A/B 1 - A/C 1 - C/D 1 - A/E
Sew 1/4" away from each side of drawn
line. Cut on drawn line and
press seams as follows:
A/B - to the A A/C - to the C
C/D - to the C A/E - to the E
Square to 2 1/2".
Layout as shown as sew together
in 4 rows. Press seams in rows
1 and 3 to the right and seams in
rows 2 and 4 to the left.
Sew rows together and square to 8 1/2".

This block would make a sweet
little wallhanging.
Made even better by adding sashing
and cornerblocks.
Certainly a much easier way to make this block... them Y-seams are pesky.
ReplyDeleteI wasn't too thrilled with this block but when you arrange multiples as you've shown... MUCH nicer! Thanks...
You're last version is so pretty, it must be the balance. But you've chosen very lovely fabrics in the red-green complements, too. Thanks for the photos of the show and tell at your quilt guild.
ReplyDeletebest, nadia
Beautiful...and thanks for the instructions!
ReplyDeleteThank you for sharing, looks much easier. Will give it a try.
ReplyDeleteThank you!! Without your tutorial I wouldn't have made this block: it looks so complicated!!! You are great!!
ReplyDeleteThank you for the continuing instructions on the project blocks. I'm sure I wouldn't have stuck with it this long without your help.
