Honoring Women's Rights ~ Week 40

Art Square

It has been awhile since I worked on this project!
I was traveling and then taking care of a sick
child but happy now to be back in my studio.
My studio has windows on 3 sides and is surrounded
by a garden,  the birds are singing, the roses are in
bloom and I am happy!

We are quilting along with Barbara Brackman's
Block of the Week, Grandmother's Choice.

Fabric Requirements:

Fabric A: Blue
4 - 2 1/2'' squares

Fabric B: Green
4 - 2 7/8'' squares cut on diagonal

Fabric C: Black
1 - 6 3/16'' square

Sew a Fabric B triangle to an edge of the
Fabric A square as shown, press seam to
the Fabric B and trim dog ears.
Sew another Fabric B triangle to the next
side of the Fabric A square as shown, press
seam to the Fabric B and trim dog ears.
Make 4.

Center a Triangle unit from above and
place with right sides together to a side
of the Fabric C triangle.  This is how you
should place this in your machine, as you
sew you need to sew a thread width above
the intersection of the 2 seams on the
triangle unit.

When you press the seam toward
the triangle unit, your points will
be perfect.

Sew a triangle unit to opposite sides
of the Fabric C square.  Trim the
dog ears.

Sew the remaining 2 triangles to the other
sides of the Fabric C square, press seam to
the triangle.  Square to 8 1/2''.
