Fabric Requirements:
Fabric A: White
4 - 2 1/2" squares
8 - 3 1/4" squares - Mark
a diagonal line on back.
Fabric B: Blue
8 - 3 1/4" squares
Fabric C: Red
4 - 3 1/4" squares
Fabric D: Green
4 - 2 1/2" squares
Fabric E: Yellow
1 - 4 1/2" square
4 - 3 1/4" squares - Mark
a diagonal line on back.
Make Half Square Triangles:
Pair the following combinations with
right sides together:
4 - A/C 4 - A/B 4 - B/E
Sew 1/4" away from both sides of drawn line.
Cut on drawn line and separate into
2 piles. Press seams in one pile to the
dark fabric and seams in the other pile
to the light fabric.
Square to 2 1/2".
Make Corner Units:
Layout units as shown (arrows show
direction of seam) and sew together
in 2 rows, press seam in row 1 to the
left and seam in row 2 to the right.
Sew rows together.
Square to 4 1/2". Make 4.
Layout units as shown (arrows show
direction of seams) and sew together
in 2 rows, press seam in row 1 to
the left and seam in row 2 to the right.
Square to 4 1/2". Make 4.
Layout units as shown and sew
together in 3 rows, press seams in
rows 1 and 3 to the outside and
seams in row 2 to the inside.
Press final seams open to reduce bulk.
Square to 12 1/2".
Hi, Ellen. So nice to meet you and thanks for stopping by my blog. To answer your question, quilting isn't a big thing in Tunisia. There are a few quilters, but mostly foreigners. I learned in Tunisia using books, magazines and trial by error! I look forward to following your projects.
