Civil War Remembered ~ Block 47

Dixie Tea


We are quilting along with Barbara
Brackman's 2011 Civil War Quilt



Fabric Requirements:

Fabric A: Brown
1 - 3 1/8" square
1 - 3 3/4" square

Fabric B: Gold
2 - 3 1/8" square

Fabric C: Rust
1 - 3 3/4" square

Fabric D: White print
2 - 3 1/8" squares
2 - 3 3/4" squares - Mark
a diagonal line on back

Fabric E: Brown stripe
1 - 6" x 1 " rectangle


Make Half Square Triangles:

Pair 3 3/4" squares, with right sides together,
 in the following combinations:

1 -C/D          1 - A/D

Sew 1/4" away from each side of drawn line.
Cut on drawn line and press to the dark
fabric.  Square to 3 1/8".


Fold under each side of long edge 1/4" and press.


Center stem diagonally on a Fabric D
3 1/8" square and pin on back. 


Topstitch close to each edge of stem,
then trim corners.


Layout as shown and sew together in
3 rows.  Press seams in rows 1 & 3
to the outside and seams in row 2
to the inside.



Sew rows together and square to 8 1/2".
