Budapest Christmas Market

This is the way to get in the holiday spirit!

In Vorosmarty Square in the heart of Pest is the annual Christmas Fair featuring handmade crafts and traditional foods.  There are Christmas trees and lights and boughs of greenery everywhere and when the sun goes down the wind whips off the Danube and turns everyone's cheeks rosy.  You carry a market mug and have it refilled throughout the market with mulled wines with fruits and spices or hot chocolate with rum.

This morning we are packing our bags and heading down to the Danube to board our ship.  We are very sad to be leaving our beautiful Piano Suite at the Kalvin Haz.  We love the 12 foot ceilings and the huge windows with shutters and the massive double doors with the squeaky hinges.  And of course, the piano.  We have decided this is our home in Budapest and we will come back.
