It's Christmas Time!

Christmas Is When???

When I left for Europe it was still November and when I got off the plane the other night it hit me ~ Christmas is around the corner.  The next few weeks are going to be a whirlwind of decorating, baking, shopping, parties, dinners, grabbing some hot chocolate with friends...

Luckily, Katie the Christmas Elf decorated the family room tree and
got all the boxes of decor out of storage.

This morning Ellen the Christmas Elf With Jetlag decorated the living room tree at 4am.

Many years ago Rob & I bought a trunk full of old ornaments from a couple who was downsizing.  We promised we would care for them as they did and we have.  They have been on our tree every year since and are now part of our history.

Our holiday decor is our history as a family.  Many items were gifts, some were things we made together, some are things we found during our travels.

I love these old prisms that I found at the Hells Kitchen Flea Market a few years ago.

I love to decorate with items from nature.

I find unusual things at antique stores.

This is a new little guy we brought home from Munich.

We blend Christmas items with our everyday decor.

Ours is a simple country life but it is our American Homestead.
