Elle's Kitchen ~ Tomb Raiders

A refreshing cocktail for the Tropics

Since we are leaving tomorrow for a  visit
to tropical locale, I thought it was a
good day to talk about a way to beat the heat.

A few months ago I was traveling in Cambodia
to visit the Angkor Wat temples.  Cambodia is
very hot, not as hot as Thailand, but still very hot
in the sun and especially when you are climbing
around ancient stone temples in the jungle.

In the evenings we would stroll over to Pub
Street and visit the lively pubs and restaurants.

Over a decade ago, Angelina Jolie came to Siem
Reap to film the movie Lara Croft, Tomb Raider.

And Angie is still revered in Cambodia.
The story I have heard is Angie asked the
bartender to make her something fun and
fruity ~ and the Tomb Raider was created!

This is how I make them:

the juice of 1/2 a lime
a shot of an orange liqueur, such as, Cointreau
Tonic water
ice

Place lime juice and orange liqueur in a
glass, top with tonic water and add ice.

Enjoy!
