Sweet Seasons ~ Block 5

2011 Redbud Block of the Month


May!


Fabric Requirements:

Fabric A:  Purple
2 - 4 1/4" squares

Fabric B: Fussy Cut
4 - 3 1/2" squares

Fabric C:  Pink
4 - 3 1/2" squares
4 - 4 1/4" squares - Mark a
 diagonal line on back.

Fabric D:  Green
2 - 4 1/4" squares


Make Half Square Triangles:
Pair 4 1/4" squares right sides together
in the following combinations:
A/C - 2    C/D - 2
Sew 1/4" away from both sides of drawn
line.  Cut on drawn line.  Press seams of
A/C to Fabric A and seams of C/D to
Fabric D.  Square to 3 1/2".


Make Quarter Units:
Layout units as shown. 
Sew together in 2 rows.
Press row 1 to the left and
row 2 to the right.  Then
sew rows together.  Square
to 6 1/2".  Make 4.
 

Assemble Block:
Layout quarter units as
shown and sew together in
2 rows.  Press row 1 to the
 right and row 2 to the left. 


Then sew rows together.
Press this seam open
to reduce bulk.
Square to 12 1/2".

  2. I like that Barbara's blocks look great in contemporary/brights as well. It gives them a different sparkle!!!
