Time to Dream

The Gardens at Avalon ~ 2011

It's that time again...

the seed catalogs are arriving in the
daily mail & I begin to dream.

Though it may still look like this outside,

there are decisions to be made.

The roses and the perennials and shrubs remain
the same but I try different things in
the planters and hanging baskets each year.

After a long Indiana winter, I love to get out in
nature again and dig in the soil and smell the
sweetness of Spring and get my hands dirty.

In the veggie garden there will be the old favorites.
Since I am a Jersey Girl there HAVE to be tomatoes,
all sorts of varieties of heirlooms and tons of cherry and grapes.
Since I love spicy food there will be peppers.
Of course, some lovely haricot verts and zucchini & herbs.

And when the robins come back to Avalon,
I'll know it is really Spring.
