Frugal & Fancy Quilt Exhibit

Indiana State Museum

I spent Mother's Day afternoon
browsing through the Indiana
State Museum's Frugal & Fancy
Quilt Exhibit.  I hope you enjoy
seeing what they had to show.

Though I find the fancy quilts
to be beautiful I find myself
drawn to the frugal quilts.  I
suppose I think of how important
those scraps of fabric would have
been to a family on a cold winter's
night.  I also love the fact that though
they were utilitarian, they were still
something the maker took time with.
They were their art.

Which quilts are you drawn to?

  1. I'm with you on that score! I especially love the plain ones too!!! I loved the 2nd, 8th, 14th, & 16th!!! Thankyou for sharing these beautiful quilts!!!

  2. The Lone Star!! I hope I'll make one in my lifetime..... And thanks for sharing the show with us!!
