Sweet Seasons ~ Block #3

2011 Redbud Block of the Month


We are moving into our Spring blocks!

Fabric Requirements:

Fabric A - Light Green
6 - 4 1/4" squares
Mark a diagonal line on back

Fabric B - Pink
8 - 2" squares
3 - 4 1/4" squares

Fabric C - Medium Purple
8 - 2" squares
3 - 4 1/4" squares


Make Half Square Triangles:
Pair 4 1/4" squares right sides
together in the following combinations:

3 - A/B     3 - A/C

Sew 1/4" away from each side of drawn
line.  Cut on drawn line,  press seams of
A/B units to the Fabric A and press seams
of the A/C units to the Fabric C.
Square to 3 1/2".


Make Corner 4 - Patch Units:
Layout 2" squares as shown.  Sew
together in 2 rows, then sew rows together.
Square to 3 1/2".
Make 4.

Example A

Example B

Make Quarter Units:
Layout units as shown, make 2 of
example A and 2 of example B.
Sew together in 2 rows and
sew rows together.
Square to 6 1/2".


Assemble Block:
Layout quarter units as shown.
Sews together in 2 rows, then
sew rows together.
Square to 12 1/2".
